March 20th & 21st, 2009: The 23rd Bluebonnet Brew-Off...

The 23rd Annual Bluebonnet Brew-Off was held at the Westin DFW in Irving Texas.  The Bluebonnet Brew-Off is one of the largest single site homebrew competitions in the United States.  This year the competition had over 1300 entries.  The North Texas Homebrewers Association (NTHBA) made a great showing and won medals in 19 different categories; 10 First Place Steins, 8 Second Place Silver Medals, and 8 Third Place Bronze Medals.  Lost Vette Brewing entered two beers into the competition.  An English Pale Ale and a Southern English Brown Ale.  The English Pale Ale, appropriately names Rocker Panel Pale, took the Bronze Medal in the Light English Pale Ale category.

The Lost Vette Brewing team was not in attendance during the Bluebonnet award ceremony, so we had to pick up our medal at the April NTHBA meeting.  It's not obvious in the pictures, but the April NTHBA meeting was held at the Franconia Brewing Company in McKinney. As an added bonus the Lost Vette Brewing team got to go on a tour of the Franconia brewery.
