What's Brewing...

LOstVEtte in 2010:

09.20.2010:  Lost Vette conducts "SSG on Tap"

Being brewing ambassadors and self proclaimed Zymurgist, Lost Vette took their knowledge on the road and conducted a beer & food tasting for SSG at Oracle OpenWorld.  It was a great event and everyone had a lot of fun.  Some of the folks were even overheard saying they never knew there was such a wide variety of beers!

09.18.2010:  While we're in town... Breckenridge Oktoberfest!

Since we were already in Colorado for GABF, it only made sense to make a stop in Breckenridge for their annual Oktoberfest celebration!

09.17.2010:  Lost Vette attends 2010 GABF

Ok, we finally knocked off another item on the 'bucket list'.  There were approximately 3300 different beers and so little time to sample.  If you have never gone to the Great American Beer Festival and you love beer, you should certainly put attending on your 'to do' list.  We had a great time and pretty much only sampled beers we had never tried before... and that wasn't even close to a challenge!  My favorite was the Merry Monks by Weyerbacher.  However my favorite part of the festival had to be meeting Charlie Papazian... the founded of the Association of Brewers and the Great American Beer Festival, and who wrote The Complete Joy of Home Brewing.

08.07.2010:  Pumpkin Spice Doppelbock Brew Session

It was about time we attempted this 'best of show' favorite.  I'm not exactly sure why we picked the hottest time of year to do a lager, but nobody has ever called the Lost Vette Brewers conventional.  This beer was really driven be Haley and her desire to prove to all her Aggie friends that great beer beats Arkansas every time... unfortunately the beer was the only thing that won that day.

07.12.2010:  Lake Time - Honey Wheat Brew Session

A summer favorite for the Lost Vette brewing crew.  This beer was brewed for a summer outing of the 3357.  No it's not a MASH unit, but it is an interesting collection of Vistage members in the Dallas area.  This was a nice smooth and refreshing beer that was enjoyed while floating at Cedar Creek Lake.

03.22.2010:  I Feel Much Bitter Brew Session

Yes, the Lost Vette Brewers have some Monty Python fans.  While this brew never got a chance to win a Holy Grail, it was a great Extra Special Bitter (ESB).  Probably one of the most beloved beers out of the Lost Vette Brewers!  It was inspired by some skiing in Angel Fire New Mexico and freshly tapped Redhook ESB at the bottom of the slopes.  This brew went down smooth and fast... hence we never got a chance to put any in a bottle for competitions.  Their loss was out gain!

03.20.2010:  The 2010 Bluebonnet Brew Off!

The Lost Vette Brewers once again entered two beers into the worlds largest homebrew competition.  We entered an English Pale Ale and an English Red Ale.  Both beers got high marks but not high enough to win medals.  The Red Ale did slightly better than the Pale Ale by making it into the medal round of judging.
